Technical Notes:
Over time, the factory plastic coolant expansion tanks that Honda/Acura include from the factory can weaken and fail from heat and pressure cycles. The PRL Coolant Expansion Tank kit replaces the factory tank with a more robust aluminum version. Our 6061 aluminum tank will not be effected by temperature and can hold higher pressures so it will out-last the factory tank. Our reservoir also more than doubles the tank's coolant capacity to 1.32 quarts (1.25 liters), while the stock tank only holds .58 quarts (.55 liters) allowing for a greater volume of coolant to carry heat away from the engine internals while maintaining a tidy engine bay. Our tank is constructed from 3mm thick aluminum and features internal baffling to prevent coolant sloshing and cavitation. The kit includes all necessary fittings to fit either the FK8/FL5/DE5 Civic Type-R/Integra Type-S applications as well as the fittings needed to fit the 2016-2021 Civic with the 1.5t engines.

Ice cold eye candy for the engine bay!
"From looks to proper performance up grade. This item is a true must for all ITS and Type R’s. Not a bad way to upgrade something truthfully needed on the car. We all love the OEM parts but this OEM part needed an upgrade because of its fails to make sure coolant stays in the tank and not on my paint. So PRL helped me make sure my ITS keeps its coolant secure and helped with major engine bay points. I got the red tank and couldn’t be more happier with how the look of the upgrade came out! And every is just a true easy DIY project no need to be scared up making the install happen urself. So don’t cheat urself from the true amazing product. That will not only help the coolant stay nice and clean in ur engine bay. But bring a true smile everytime you pop the hood and see that true clean bay we all work hard for."

"Superior quality, excellent welds, fitment, and overall appearance. I removed my old leaky unit and installed this new unit. Cooling fans only stay on briefly. Seems to make a difference in the look of the engine bay and adds more coolant capacity for better cooling."
"Exact fit, bigger capacity, its sturdy and it’s aesthetically pleasing. Seems to keep the engine cooler by making the cooling fans run a little shorter. On certain days, fan can run as long as 45-60 seconds, on the contrarty, with this mod the cooling fans run only for 5-15 seconds on average."
