Great Product!

I recently cracked my stock turbo inlet on my 2018 honda civic lx hatchback and decided to pull the trigger and get the PRL turbo inlet (standard bore). I was running an Injen short ram intake at the time so I had to switch to PRL's short ram to be compatible. Just to mention it, PRL's intake is 4" where as Injen's is notably smaller. My buddy and I took a friday to take a crack at installing it and here is my honest review...

Pros: Starting with installation, I'll say PRL did a good job on instructions and making the steps very clear. Everything was packaged nicely and was paired with its respective parts. It fits very snug in the engine bay and is very aesthetically pleasing! They easily have the best quality of materials for your buck!

On the performance end of things, this product has been so rewarding! The turbo spools a lot more consistently and the engine feels a lot smoother at all rpm. But by far, the biggest thing that I noticed is how much better my engine can breathe, especially with quicker turbo spool. And with quicker turbo spool/larger diameter pipes, the induction and turbo noises are even more prominent. Sounds so good!

Cons: Again, starting with the installation process, I wouldn't say it's a difficult install, but patience is key as there is a lack of space in the engine bay. Even with my buddy's help, it sadly took us the majority of the afternoon. Some of the vacuum lines are very hard to put on (as they are brand new) so I opted to put a very small layer of oil on the barbed end to help slip them on. I don't advise doing that as oil shouldn't be in the line!! In addition, I had to bend the two metal vacuum lines to allow for the inlet to bolt up properly. The wastegate harness wouldn't clip in properly either so I just cut back some of the plastic and used electrical tape to protect the wires. No issues since!

I have nothing bad to say about performance!!

TLDR: This product is absolutely great, and don't regret my purchase whatsoever–even though it takes some time to install. Thank you PRL!

Throttle response/ Sound

Works perfectly with my CAI from PRL (everything should fit after installation) and you feel a noticeable difference in throttle response since there is no more constraint on air flow coming into the turbo from your stock inlet pipe. With that being said you also have a noticeable sound of the turbo spooling. DO NOT FREAK OUT if you get a code “Emissions system issue” if you are getting the standard bore. That is normal and will go away after a day or two of driving. Highly recommend this product, the material used is worth the price!

Maximize your 10th Gen Civic's engine intake system and turbocharger potential with the PRL Motorsports Titanium Turbocharger Inlet Pipe Kit for the L15B7. This kit is a direct bolt-on upgrade that eliminates intake airflow restriction before the turbocharger, allowing the turbocharger to operate more efficiently. Thin-wall Titanium keeps helps reduce heat-soak. Our design utilizes a cast aluminum inlet piece to allow smooth transition from the gasket-matched 50mm ID compressor inlet to a 76.2mm OD / 74mm ID outlet throughout the Titanium crossover pipe. The compressor outlet diameter is increased to 45mm from the factory's 38mm diameter. We designed this kit to compliment Honda's 1.5L displacement perfectly by providing a significant increase in airflow volume in comparison to the factory inlet pipe, while maintaining velocity. A multi-piece design allows for easier installation and better fitment than a one-piece design.
