Position Details

Job Summary:

The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for operating their assigned machinery, ensuring that it runs smoothly, works at capacity, and is appropriately maintained. This includes managing CNC equipment from setup to operation while producing parts and tools from different resources such as metal and plastic. CNC Machine Operators are tasked with monitoring machinery, inspecting finished products, and leading test runs.

Typical Work Schedule:  2nd Shift / M-Th 2:30pm-1:00am

Essential Functions:

  • Monitor Machining operations.
  • Load raw material into CNC machines and remove finished parts.
  • Empty CNC chip barrels at regular intervals.
  • Keep CNC machining area clean, neat, and organized
  • Thoroughly cleans machines and parts after machining operations are complete.
  • Maintain proper basic maintenance on CNC machines. i.e. Coolant levels and lubricant levels.
  • Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts.
  • Prepare basic reports documenting work performed.
  • Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required    
  • 1-2 years of basic CNC machine operation preferred but not required (will train).
  • Must be willing to work overtime if required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints preferred (will train). 
  • Ability to read precision measuring equipment preferred (will train).

Environment and Working Conditions

Work Environment:

  • Work primarily in a production machine shop environment.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in various positions, including standing, bending, and keeling for extended periods.
  • Able to lift, push, and/or pull up to 70 pounds while remaining stationary throughout shift.
