Though our original prototype testing showed solid power gains, our team still saw room for improvement. Corey Poole at Two Step Performance and Pepo Besosa at Red Star Motoring assisted us with intake testing and data collection. We asked Corey and Pepo to perform various tests for us, such as gradually increasing boost/power levels to see if and where there are any bottlenecks in either the factory or our prototype intake design. During testing, we found the factory air duct and inlet to be a restriction around the 400 horsepower mark. Our engineers went back to the drawing board and developed a revised version, which incorporates an auxiliary lower air duct. This additional air duct increases airflow volume and provides a secondary source of cool air to the air box by drafting air from the fender-well.
After installing our revised intake design, we were able to see notable power increases across the board in comparison to our V1 design, and saw that the intake was no longer a restriction above 400 horsepower.

TSP Dyno Testing
Corey's car was able to see a best of 505 horsepower and 419 ft/lbs torque at 30 PSI of boost with our High Volume Intake System and only 486 horsepower and 409 ft/lbs torque with the factory intake system at the same boost level with. All testing was performed on the same day with the hood shut.
Power Gains:
- 19 horsepower and 10 ft/lbs torque on this application.

After adding an XDI HPFP, Corey's car was able to make a best of 528 horsepower and 431 ft/lbs of torque!

RSM Dyno Testing:
Pepo's car was able to see a best of 461 horsepower and 360 ft/lbs torque at 27 PSI of boost with our High Volume Intake System and only 448 horsepower and 350 ft/lbs torque with a modified factory intake system (custom lower duct added) at the same boost level with. All testing was performed on the same day with the hood shut.Â

- 13 horsepower and 10 ft/lbs torque on this application.

Testing of our revised air box confirmed that the factory air duct and inlet was a restriction, and shows that it continues to choke the engine as power is increased past the 400 horsepower mark. This is great to see and in depth. All I ever hear is how people claim that the factory already make a cold air intake and it’s better than anything you can buy. Well you guys are proving that’s an incorrect statement and are showing the bottlenecks it can create. Love the blog!
